Cosmetic brand The Body Shop announces it will go vegan by 2023

Cruelty free veteran brand The Body Shop has recently made the announcement that products such as honey and lanolin will be removed entirely from its products, making them free of animal products.

The beauty chain, founded by Anita Roddick in 1976, has long been a campaigner against the use of animal testing, has vowed that all of its products will, from 2023, also be certified by the vegan society. This will give assurances to customers.

Famously bought by L'Oreal in 2006, The Body Shop is now owned by Natura& Co, who have committed to cruelty free methods and a full vegan range.

They believe its required for sustainability, and alongside this have also announced that The Body Shop will launch re-fill stations in its stores. This is in addition to current recycling scheme they operate, which is also being expanded.
