Attempt to ban PETA India by India's dairy industry

It would appear that Amul, the largest food and drink company globally, is not a fan of democracy, or freedom of speech.

PETA India has suggested Amul starts producing plant based milk, however Amul argues dairy is good for the economy and alternatives are too expensive for Indian consumers.

This is against a backdrop of a legal battle over the labelling of vegan products in the country.

PETA India has argued that Indian consumers do want plant based dairy products, and would be shocked at the truth of India's dairy industry.

Amul's Vice Chairman Valamji Humbal has said it is unimaginable that livestock are treated cruelly.

Its astonishing really that this is happening. Its a battle over the labelling of milk and the production of plant based alternatives. Why should consumers have their minds made up for them by a ban?
