An unexpected vegan surprise here, but they are described as vegetarian on the packaging. This is because the factory handles eggs and milk, and there is a risk these are present, so they get the vegetarian not vegan label.
These aren't pastries you just put in the oven. You have to unwrap the pastry, tear it apart (it is easy) and put the chocolate in yourself. Hardly a difficult culinary enterprise, and not enough work put in to credit yourself with having any part on making them, but adds to the occasion, and increases the effort involved if trying to do something nice for someone.
These are also an easy thing to do with children. To get them engaged in some easy kitchen creativity, these are a relatively cheap activity to do that they are likely to enjoy the result of.
They taste good too. The novelty of having them warm out the oven is a delight, and they brown nicely. The box says to add a glaze for a deeper colour, but I did not and they looked great still.
The chocolate cooks well, and does not melt out when cooking. I do not have any complaints about these. They cook quickly, in just 12 minutes.
For someone who likes these for breakfast, they are great, and are also great to do with the children.
