Morrisons Meat Free Hot Dogs Review

Updated: Jun 2, 2021

A different take on hot dogs these, for they are not boiled but cooked in the oven. They come frozen, and thankfully just come in a card box, no plastic at all.

They are larger than I expected, no bad thing of course, and four come in a box. Owing to the size one each is plenty.

Appearance is fine, an expected red colour, and they can (and should, they are hot dogs) be eaten with ketchup, mustard and onions. It compliments the taste.

Different to others I have tried, they are dense and have a hot dog flavour, with a smoky undertone. Crucially, they do not leave a taste in the mouth, as some others can. Perhaps they are not exactly what one would expect, but they are a different taste, what is wrong with that? As long as they taste nice.

Of course, they are cooked in the oven, so taking them camping can't really happen, and palm oil features a little high on the ingredients list.

If you want a vegan hot dog though, these are certainly worth a try, for they are not bad at all.
