Glamorgan Sausages are nothing new, having known to be in existence for in excess of a century.
As the name suggests, they are a Welsh sausage, made traditionally with a Caerphilly cheese.
These ones are not strictly traditional, on the account that they contain Mozzarella and soft cheese. Some quarters also say a proper Glamorgan Sausage should be covered in breadcrumbs, where as these are not. Not all recipes include onions either.
Despite all this, if you take away what the conventional Glamorgan Sausage is, they are rather nice. In occasion, they have tasted a touch overseasoned with black pepper, but this not often a problem. Otherwise the leek and cheese flavours come through, and they have a soft texture.
Easy to cook in the oven, they are versatile also. Could be put in sandwiches or as part of a main meal.
While strictly a Glamorgan Sausage, they are a credible alternative.
