It can be found that vegans someone lack choice, however this cannot be said for vegan sausage rolls. It seems every food shop is selling them now, in fresh and frozen forms. It's not a bad thing, just an observation.
A new one available comes from Sainsbury's, as part of their Plant Pioneers range.
Found in the fresh section, it's a good size, suited well for lunch when you have forgotten to make it a home.
The vegan pastry is well judged, flaky without being greasy or too thick.
The sausage actually fills most if the pastry up, which is also good. The whole product is actually 18% mushroom, but you cannot tell its origins really, its just a really nice sausage roll. It has many herbs and spices added to alter the flavour, including Coriander, Nutmeg and Sage, and they have worked.
On taste alone its an easy sausage roll to recommend. I tried it cold, but it can be heated I the oven too.
