This is a subjective topic of course, people have different tastes. This list, (in no particular order) of reviews comes from an us who have tried most on the market, offering an opinion on the best vegan sausages that can be bought in UK supermarkets. Ideal for BBQs, dinners and just putting in a roll.
Richmond Vegan Meat-Free Sausages
These are excellent, and are a very easy recommendation. You can buy them fresh or frozen, and cook very easily. Versatile too, great with potatoes or in a roll. The taste they offer is unique to them, but is very good, well worth a try.
Linda McCartney Red Onion and Rosemary Sausages
An old favourite these, different from others yet full of flavour. Great for anyone who likes onion, they do go well with mash, peas and an onion gravy. Quite soft of texture, they do not have a skin like some sausages do, and they are really rather nice.
Heck Vegfurters
The whole vegan Heck range is difficult to go wrong with really, they offer some different tastes and flavours. These Vegfurters are a good pick. The mushroom, carrot and beetroot come together well, they are not out to imitate meat like the Richmond ones on this list. For a vegetable flavoured alternative, buy these. British made too.
Morrisons V Taste Hot Dogs
Not as versatile as the others on this list, but still great for Bonfire Night or a treat for everyone. You don't boil these, they cook in the oven, and they do differ from other veggie hotdogs. They are quite thick, and taste good, without any flavour lingering in the mouth. Great with ketchup and fried onion.
Hi Veg Saag Aloo Sausages
A bit different these, but also flavoursome, they are well suited a to vegan casserole or other winter food. They may have an odd name, but aside from that these are good. Made of butternut squash, potato, spinach, onion and cauliflower, these sausages actually count towards your five a day, which is a bonus on top of their great taste.
